Anurag Basu’s long awaited action comedy adventure Jagga Jasoos released this past Friday to a mixed response. While the critics unanimously lauded as a brave experiment, they also expressed their reservations with its consistency.
After an average start, the fantasy film is steadily moving up the charts, thanks to positive word of mouth. Anurag Basu’s directorial venture, which collected Rs 20.10 crore in its first two days, has shown a slight jump in figures on Sunday.
Jagga Jasoos has earned another Rs 13.07 crore on its third day of release, thus taking the total to Rs 33.17 crore.

Jagga Jasoos boasts of some unusual quirky songs like ‘Khaana khaake’, ‘Ullu ka pattha’ and ‘Galti se mistake’ which have picked up the curiosity of the cine lovers. Interestingly, the character portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor stammers and can only speak by singing. Therefore, the film has around 29 small poetic songs which are part of the narrative and make it a musical.
Jagga Jasoos also stars Saswata Chatterjee, Sayani Gupta and Evelyn Sharma. It is co-produced by Ranbir’s Picture Shuru Productions, Basu’s Ishana Movies and is the last production of Walt Disney India.
