Robert Downey Jr Hints At Quitting Iron Man: This Is What He Said

Who doesn’t know Iron Man? Well in India, we probably know Iron Man more than Robert Downey Jr himself. The raunchy character of Tony Stark seems incomplete without Robert Downey Jr. Since he played Iron Man for the first time in 2008, it has been 9 years of Robert Downey as Iron Man.

Recently in an interview with News Corp Australia Network, he hinted something that suggests he may finally quit Iron Man & exit from the popular superhero cinematic universe before it gets ’embarrassing’ for him.

Here’s what he said when he was asked his plans about quitting Iron Man:
“It’s this cyclical thing. I could have said when the first Avengers came out: ‘It’s never going to get any better than that. Everybody stop.’ But to me it’s always about people and opportunities, like the Russos (Avengers directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo), who I adore. Everyone says to me it’s like a glove that fits so well. I have to start over every time but I am starting over with a pretty solid base. I just never want to blow it for the last six or seven (MCU movies) I have done by dropping the ball because I decided to go do it one more time. I just want to hang up my jersey before it’s embarrassing.”

Spiderman: Homecoming is going to be the next movie in which we’ll see him playing Iron Man and his upcoming Avengers: Infinity War marks his eighth appearance as Tony Stark i.e. Iron Man. Hope he doesn’t quit it any soon. We all love you Robert Downey Jr! What do you think guys?
