Spider-Man: Homecoming First Weekend Box-office Collection, Beats Mom & Guest Iin London


Spider-Man:Homecoming which released this weekend with Sridevi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Mom and Karthik Aryan and Kriti Kharbanda’s Guest Iin London made a fantastic first business at the box office in India.

Spider-Man: Homecoming surprised many by earning almost thrice as much as Mom and Guest Iin London combined. While these two Bollywood releases struggled to make Rs 5 crore together, this Marvel film alone earned Rs 6.5 crore. Over the weekend, this film has raked in Rs 42 crore, which is $6.5 million.

Globally, the film has earned $257 million at the box office, and is yet to release in China.

Spider-Man: Homecoming has been hailed as the best Marvel movie sofar, and its lead Tom Holland has been praised for surpassing previous actors in terms of essaying the role of the superhero. The movie also stars Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.

Sridevi-starrer Mom fared better on Saturday than it did on its opening day, seeing an increase from approximately Rs 3 crore to Rs 5.08 crore. This means that the film has earned Rs 7.98 crore in total, and achieved 75 per cent growth.

While,Guest in London had a poor weekend as it grossed 5 crore nett. The film had some decent growth but with such a low starting pointing it had to be much higher growth. The film had to compete with Spiderman – Homecoming and Mom which the audience preferred so it could have worked better on a week where the competition was weaker.
