2017 could well change the face of the Indian motorcycling industry with a complete line-up of performance bike launches in the offing. And it’s not only the superbike and premium motorcycle space which will see action, but quite a few entry-level performance bikes as well, like the much-awaited BMW G 310 R to the updated and new KTM 390 Duke and TVS Motor Company’s first full-faired sportbike, the Apache RTR 300.
TVS Akula 310 (Apache RR 310S)
The TVS Akula concept was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and it surprised everyone. Built to commemorate 33 years of TVS Racing, this all out track tool has been developed to be a winner on the track. Wrapped in a carbon fibre body, the Akula has been built on the BMW G310 R platform.
Aculla gets Power from the 313cc engine is expected to be in the range of 34-36bhp with around 28Nm of torque.

BMW G 310 R
BMW Motorrad unveiled the G310R just a few days before the EICMA 2015. This is the first motorcycle that has been developed under BMW-TVS alliance, which was formed two years ago.
BMW wanted their new small capacity motorcycle to have a design that will go with their entire product portfolio. And for the same reason, the G310R has design elements from the S1000RR and the R1200R. At first look, the G310R doesn’t look very attractive but the design grows on you.
G 310 R gets Power from the 313cc engine, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 34bhp of power and 28Nm of torque, with a six-speed transmission.

KTM 390 Duke
For 2017, KTM’s pocket rocket gets a facelift with new styling and bodywork inspired by the KTM 1290 Super Duke. the new KTM 390 Duke will get a ride-by-wire system with possibly a choice of riding modes, standard dual-channel ABS and a new side-mounted exhaust. In terms of design, the 2017 KTM 390 Duke gets redesigned body panels, with an all-LED headlight with daytime running lights and a full-colour TFT screen instrument cluster. The changes to the catalytic converter and the side mounted exhaust have added some weight to the bike, which now tips the scales at 149kg. Also new is a larger fuel tank with 13.4 litres capacity.
390 Duke gets power from 373cc engine, single-cylinder liquid-cooled mill that makes 43bhp and 37Nm.

BMW G 310 GS
The styling of the BMW G310 GS draws influence from its elder litre-class siblings. The raised suspension, minimal bodywork, sleek profile and the upright seating should offer it the versatility of being a decent off roader while being comfortable on long hauls. The BMW G310 GS will come with mounts to fit pannier luggage box on its tail. The list of optional extras is expected to get a host of touring-friendly features like panniers, hand guards and engine guards.
G 310 GS gets power from 313cc engine but the tuning and power curves may be slightly different for a stronger low- and mid-range.

YAMAHA R15 V3
The all new Yamaha R15 V3 has just been revealed. This is the company’s new-generation 150cc bike, which has been showcased in its third avatar. The Yamaha R15 has been a runaway hit for the company and has been highly appreciated by the Indian audience as well. So, what does this bike have on offer? It does look different and seems promising.
The new Yamaha R15 V3 will be powered by a new 155cc engine. However, this new bike will have variable actuators that will help to increase the performance. We expect a boost in power to 19bhp, while the torque will see a minimal increase to 17-18Nm. The same six-speed transmission will be used on the Yamaha R15 V3. This time around, we expect the Yamaha R15 V3 to even get sharper throttle response and Drive by Wire mostly.
